*242 - Eastin Hotel, Penang

Another "Balik Penang" trip for my family this holiday... and this time we stayed in the new Eastin Hotel in Bayan Lepas Penang... Very near to QueensBay Mall... In fact its just 3 mins walk...



Its another business class hotel that is highly advertised in papers, magazines etc... U can tell that too after u notice numerous of signs and billboards pointing ur way to the hotels... Very good publicity i'll say since its still very new and they already got their rooms all filled up this holiday...



Eastin is a very beautiful building... I'll say its one of the best hotel in Penang in design exteriorly and interiorly... Modern urban designing with a sense of nature... Hmmm... (G Hotel still has the best design)



At the lobby, there's a small lounge beside... Very small i'll say... Nothing special there... And on the other corner is the restaurant that serves buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner... Swee Brasserie... I got to know from Michelle's fren that the chef are sent overseas (France if not mistaken) to learn all the food specialty... No reviews on the food since i did not dine there... Who wanna eat in that restaurant while in Penang? LOL... Local hawker stalls is so so much more tempting xD


Here's the Not-So-Good part... Had quite a bad experience with the service there... Staff were not well-trained and they are all totally BLUR =.= mayb its still new...

We called for reservation few weeks b4 the trip... The receptionist said reservation must be made to the sales department... but we tried to called a few times and for a few days... Its always engaged... I doubt that they have such good business O.o Then we manage to get the receptionist to reserve for us (as wat we're told she will inform the sales department)... When we reached there, there's no room for us... Since we got her name, we asked to girl out to solve the problem... And she said she inform the sales department... and its the sales department fault... After unsuccessful dealing with the sales department officer, we request to speak to the sales manager... One funny question he ask us: "we have 5 managers, which one u wanna speak to?" LOL... really LOLed... How i know which manager i wanna speak to... Just call a relevant manager out la =.=

We got our room... Instead of the room we reserved, there's only 1 seaview room available (suppose its at rm198++ but we manage to have it for the price of rm168++ as the room we reserved)... Wow... Seaview... That's the seaview we had...

I wondered how that small piece of sea cost another rm30++ O.o... Damn not worth it... I can see QueensBay Mall, Pulau Jerejak and the OXO cafe from my room :)

For the rooms... Its very very very very small... They advertised they use LCD tv in every room... And now i know why they use LCD tv... Coz i cant even find a place to put the conventional tv... O.o See for urself...

In conclusion... Its a very beautiful hotel, near to shopping mall but not so value for money and not really that comfortable... I think their service will improve after sometime but meanwhile their staffs are still very blur... LOL... There's still plenty of better hotels out there :P

*235 - Why This Job?

Sorry people... Was missing for weeks from the blogosphere :/ Im totally lack of writing inspiration due to sleep deprivation... My data entry job huh...

Yeah... Night shift did make a person's biological clock go haywire... Do consider twice (million times is recommended) if u wish to work night shift =.= Some experience to share... Before u can adapt to the change, u're a total mess... U cant eat, u cant sleep and u cant even find a time to poop :/ I was having problem in identifying which day im in... What's my lunch time and what's my dinner time or perhaps others called it supper and breakfast? O.o

Many ppl had been asking me "Why this job?"... and the fact is i had to agree with u its not a worth-to-do job at all... Odd timing, not a really high pay job, distant workplace, stupid parking charges and blood-sucking tolls, the one and only one mamak available that serve the worst food i ever had... Hmmm... Complains still can go on and on...

Not that i really in need of money to live on, i chose this job just because its offer suits my calendar... Today will be my last day and i'll be enjoying my sem break... To think logic financially, despite those complains i got above, why not i earn some (really SOME after all deductions) rather than i sit at home and do nothing? Unless i got a better job offer, or else i'll stick to this job of course... Not that u can always choose a good job anyway...

Many ppl especially graduates tend to choose their job so fastidiously... End up "this not a good time", "this not having good pay", "this just sucks" or whatever... this doesnt help in anyway financially... It will only waste ur time unemployed (mayb be u can hav some mushrooms after u grow it at home =.=) Why not do some not-so-good job until u find a better offer? Something is better than nothing... Its either u earn money or keep spending money, u still at least need to eat right?

Thus that's how i ended up in this job and trying to detach myself from my comfort zone... Trying to stop my expenditure and at least accumulate some cash too... On the other hand, i noticed how lucky am i compare to my other colleagues... plus Every new place u will learn something new... something its there but u may never realise before... I'll share wat i learned in my next post xD

*234 - Kinda My Easiest and Worst Job

Cant believe im still so so busy until i left my blog alone even after my finals... Events after events, functions to attend, friends to entertain and pile of things to do that got me insane =.=


Im hooked up to a data entry job Joachim introduced... We're suppose to key in the center no. and candidate number on the exam papers tat UK students sat for... Something i dont understand though... Why dont they use Optical readers for this numerical entry? Imagine u're wasting resources paying hundres of ppl, doing 3 passes to check the accuracy of the data, jeopardize hundred's health as we're working UK time... Oh god...

Basically quite a boring routine job working like a robot =.= u type in wat u see, next, type in wat u see, next~ for the whole damn night... From now on, i swear i wont be complaining if anyone keys in my info wrongly... Now i know how hard it is =.=

So tat's my life recently... Just a temporary project so i guess i'll be free soon... with a bit of extra cash :)

ps: dont ask me out to mamak recently... im having mamak (the only place nearby) for supper everyday :/

im searching for the best Japanese Buffet in town for quite sometime and my fren asked me why i still never try out Shogun... Answer is... There are so so many bad reviews on Shogun already... So why should i go get myself "beheaded"? I heard they dont even allow ppl to take photos of their food... I guess the boss dont understand the free advertisement by bloggers...

I personally thinks that SERVICE is the topmost priority... If u charged me for service charge, then u better provide the customers a good service... Or else dont la include service charge... I had to point out that the Pizza Hut in Jusco Cheras Selatan is my worst encounter to bad services... Even my frens too experienced it...

What i wanna say here is... To all restaurant operators out there... If u wan good customer crowd; if u looking for good review; if u wan free advertisement, wat u need to do is just do ur best in wat u did best: Service and Food... Now blogs are like the new newspaper... It spreads very fast... Restructure your business strategy ppl...

Its CSL... The 1st local brand of handphone in Malaysia... So how proud of u on that?

Last year my dad bought a CSL phone for my youngest bro since its so cheap n yet full of features... Despite many times of factory visiting... The phone gave us something special... something... not really seen b4 in other phone though...

How good is that? Having a phone that shows "mirrored" screen... I'll say this is so damn cool! Imagine u reading ur msg on a mirror...

*163 - Stupid Red Tape & Counters

How best i spent 3 hours in Kastam to collect my parcels =.=

I'd been asked to go from counter 1, to room 2, then counter 5, then 6, then back to room 2, then counter 4, then 5, bla bla bla................ O.o still a long list...

The best is when they ask me to verify my items at the pharmacy department... The pharmacy department is at the opposite building... and for ur information, the opposite building is NOT so near n its unpractical to walk there =.=

At the Pharmacy department, “u kena fotostat ini borang satu copy untuk saya" ok... so i ask where i can get a photostat service... The place tat suppose i can get my photostated copy said "Rosak, boleh try kat jabatan lain", then the jabatan-lain said "takde photostat, pergi tingkat 3" bla bla bla, then i get a piece of photostat for 20cents................ O.o

They are using an ONLINE kastam system... and 1st thought was... wow... Malaysia so high tech... but next thing i saw beside me is a piece of paper saying "terima kasih kerana sabar menunggu, boring kastam akan diproses dalam 20-30 minit bergantung kepada server online kastam" WTF O.o

Why cant they make things more efficient a bit? I was holding a pile of 10 papers at least with my item sample running up n down... They waste papers for all sorts of borang, waste ppl's time, waste energy, waste this waste that... Arrgghh! And they are using a computerized ONLINE system =.=

*158 - Oily Diarrhea... Fuck That Fish

Still remember that yummy marmite cod fish i had in gasoline, look out point during Yuki's birthday celebration?

Fuck it! Its NOT a COD fish!

Since yesterday im having oily diarrhea... Yes... Only oil came out of me, orangish yellowish oil... Im sure most of u experienced it unless u dont like fish =.= This is wat happened...

That stupid fish is not a cod fish... Its called escolar or oilfish... Taste exactly like cod fish though (suddenly i understand how the hell will a BIG piece cod cost only rm15.90)... The fish stores waxy esters in its body to help in buoyancy... Human body cannot digest tat waxy esters thus it will be excreted through the end of ur digestive tract, as OIL...

This symptom is called keriorrhea, the discharge of orange-coloured, waxy diarrhoea... Its not harmful to body but it definitely cause inconvenience... But im sure i wont be constipate for a while since my rectum is well lubricated =.=

Next trip i'll go n tell the manager off to change tat labelling on the menu... This is misleading! Gotta go threaten them with legal action for mislabel on their products! I will do that...

*150 - H1N1: Not Very Happy Experience With SJMC

My younger bro was having fever, flu, cough, body ache bla bla bla since yesterday... This morning he went to SJMC to seek outpatient treatment... But something the hospital did makes me feel tat its very irresponsible...

Let's make it clear 1st... h1n1 is just a mild flu, it dont need any medication... Read my post *110 - Overreaction on h1n1 first before proceed k :)

Firsty, the government is now trying their best to control the spreading of the disease... it can be done only by public awareness... but the doctor just now told us tat "dont worry, h1n1 is everywhere already, just take off ur mask"... this sounds like she is promoting spreading of the virus in a way that since virus is everywhere, just ignore the precaution...

Secondly, its just stupid plain consultation talking and we were charged with a bill of rm200+. WTF. No throat swabs, nothing, already rm200. Who wanna go see doctor like tat? and i heard if u wanna to do a throat swab to confirm h1n1, it will cost u around rm500... its ur call =.=

Thirdly, the drug, tamiflu is not necessary for everyone... its just a flu symptom relieving drug which helps u in away and prevent u develop complications... and the doctor did explain this to my dad too... and she said tat tamiflu is in shortage in Malaysia... if we insist to get the drug, they can sell us by higher price... WTF is tat? Why cant the hospital just tell u u dun need it and stop earning from this pandemic =.=

I just cant accept wat the private hospitals did... Rubbish and Cut throat...

Something in my nutrition lecture puzzled me... I always thought tat Nutrition is a course to educate healthy diet to the community... Now i know its not...

My lecturer stressed a lot on calories and the bad effect of excess calories... She gave us an example of choosing strawberry jam between A and B (details below)... She recommends us to choose the lower carbs one, A since its having less calorie... When does making choices is so tat simple?

A=
Strawberry Jam
Nutrition facts with 7g carbs
Ingredients includes corn syrup, sugar, high fructose corn syrup etc

B=
100% Strawberry Fruit Spread
Nutrition facts with 8g carbs
Ingredients are mainly fruit juice concentrates

Analyse the ingredients carefully... u may wan to slim down by taking a 7g less calorie jam... But will the ingredient actually do more harm? What's in the corn syrup? Its a so called empty syrup with no other nutrients. What about the sugar? Im sure its a refined sugar that had been bleach to be so white, whiter than the New Darlie All Shiny White =.=

8g carbs strawberry fruit spread, a more natural product with natural occuring sugar. Fruit juice concentrate will comes with all the phyto-nutrients plants can offer. No added sugar, no processed corn syrup. Which u'll choose now?

The next hour of lecture just got more misleading. Its about artificial sweetener to combat the high calorie intake. Aspartame... Sorbital... Acesulfame K... etc all approved and certified safe by FDA. Erm... are u sure about that? Aspartame been labelled the worst of all sweeteners with 92 side effects associated with its consumption. Sorbitol, a clinical laxative n nerve damaging in high doses. Acesulfame K been associated with cancer...

Now... U choose... Calorie or Kill your body?

Do u think science and maths can be taught in Malay? Yeah... i knw... u all did it for so long... i too had my secondary science in BM... but it took me hell to understand the english scientific terms after im in form 6... y dont we start earlier... Mayb since form 1?

Frankly ur BM got no use in the scientific world... Yaya... its the national language... So... lets juz learn it as the national language to communicate among races... Wat i think is, its sufficient to enable us to communicate with each other:

In my opinion, the best is let the primary stop the PPSMI... Chinese school learn maths and science in chinese, tamil school in tamil and etc... They still hav BM class and english class wat... Then Secondary... We still also will hav BM class... But Science and Maths in English... Certainly will help them in a lot in their tertiary education... My mum as a primary teacher said all her colleague suppport this too... This is wat the rakyat wants...

*115 - Matriculation: Only Ticket To The U?

What's after ur SPM? STPM? Please... No! Dont kill urself!

U know why im writing this post? Firstly, there are only a few STPM students getting into Biomed this year. Secondly, there's only one STPM student (indian) got enrolled into Medicine UPM. Third, there's only tiny winy no. of chinese in the first year... Where STPM goes? Where all the chinese goes?

As a STPM graduate, i can say tat its never easy to study STPM. If u scored well like 3.92 or 3.83, u still wont be able to get the course tat u wan... Even if u can prove urself to be so good in STPM by getting a 4.0, u still not guaranteed to get medicine... So why go for STPM at all? Its meaningless now...

STPM suppose to be the main path or the typical way to enter local university. And its standard used to stood high above any other examination in the world. But wat happen now is, with the same killer-paper, u hav to compete with the new system, called the Malaysian Matriculation =.= WTF

Something i dont understand here. A matric physic student is able to enroll himself into medicine program O.o Do u wan to be consult by a doctor tat actually only knows about chips and wires? The statistic of failed medicine students here is mostly from the Matric, mostly, go n check! Why is this happening? Do u smell something fishy on the Matric system?

I think i dont hav to cont. writing cause im sure it wont be heard by the MOE or some authorities. And only u and i, the students aware tat our local university standard will constantly be dropping while the rich will do better in private institution like IMU etc.

For u, my fellow juniors... Get into Matriculation and get a stupid 4.0 or leave to join the private college... Never dig ur own grave in STPM... Luckily im still not buried yet =.=

*88 - Internet Dependent Syndrome (IDS)

Holy shit... Im infected with IDS... Recent research shows no cure yet for this desease T.T

Today the doctor, TM net, stop my prescription of my drug, Streamyx at 2pm to diagnose IDS infection... Diagnostic procedure was carried out for TEN full hours until now at 12am =.=

Unfortunately, report shows that i had intense withdrawal syndrome from internet and im diagnosed as a IDS patient... HELP! I dont wanna die~

The withdrawal was awful... I cant sit, cant stand, cant sleep, cant shit... NO la... just kidding... I keep checking out on the counter when is my drug available... n i truly hate the doctor for taking away my drug... I was having a business chat u know... taking away my drug suddenly makes me cant continue my daily chores =.=

Imagine how am i going to survive without Streamyx in my new condo next week =.= I need the pills :/

Anyway, juz let me drown in IDS... Like taking morphine, at least its euphoric on me ^^ Muahahahaha~
