*250 - Looking for "Pay for Biomedical Science in Malaysia"?

Something surprised me on the analytics provided by Nuffnang for my blog... i got a search hit on "pay for biomedical science in Malaysia"...

Actually i didnt really wrote about pay for biomedical science graduate in my blog b4... i just rant before that the pay for biomedical science graduate isnt good enough for me... mayb that's the keywords that attracted the hit... This led me wanted to share wat i knew with all my readers here...

Disclaimer: im going into my final year and obviously i havent really graduated yet... all info i shared here is solely experience and counseling i got from seniors, lecturers, friends and forum... may not be 100% accurate but it will be a good reference for ya... if u found any of my infos were wrong or any good infos to share, feel free to leave comments in this post... we as biomedical science students need inputs from the experienced :)

As a biomedical science degree graduate... wat u really can do with it? Most ppl will go into sales and marketing... promoting pharmaceutical drugs, biomedical research equipment and kits... One of my senior is working in this industry and his basic is rm2k... but it comes with a lucrative commission from sales volume... if u're hardworking enough, u can pump until rm6k in no time...

Another choice is to work in pathology labs and diagnostic labs... For those ppl that dont really like to deal with ppl (you shouldnt be), this is a good choice for ya, u;ll be doing lab job, routine and stable income of rm1.8k-2.8k is achievable... One of my fren went enquiring in a private well-known pathology lab, they offer him rm3k including all the allowance... About the same pay goes to the insurance underwriter...

Let's say we further our studies, im sure there's some fellowship programme that u can apply to... in my uni, we can get rm1.5k as allowance with fee exemption if we successfully applied for the Graduate Research Fellowship... Seems quite good to me...

As a junior lecturer after u finish ur phD... (the info i got quite surprise me) we will be only having rm3k-rm4k as a start (basic la, dont worry)... or an experienced phD will be at 5k-6k... and only after that u hav to climb ur own ladder to more than rm10k or even rm20k as a professor... That will be at least 40 years old i think O.o

Im certain that one can always do better than these... these were just an average guide... Go out and strive ur best to achieve your goals!

*248 - Hectic Week @@

Whoa... i'd not been resting enough this week... incessant events, activities, tests and assignments queuing up in a long long list...

Gotta freaked out soon... LOL

Came across this words in my personnel supervision lecture notes... "external locus of control"...

Im one of the committee for the Malaysian Symposium on Biomedical Science 2010... (in fact, now im slacking in the main lecture hall :P) As u all should already knew... Organizing an event especially such a big one like this... is never been easy... its very TOUGH actually...

Many things went wrong... and i noticed many ppl are practicing external locus of control... what it means is one tend to blame others or natural uncontrolled causes that caused the problems...

Most ppl only know how to blames others... and we all tend to blame others 1st when anything goes wrong without really reconsidering... do u noticed that trend? So when will only a person will make him/herself as the primary cause of the events 1st?

I guess this is something that we all need to learn to be successful in an organisation and meet organisation goals as a whole...

Try to be aware of these when u wanna blame someone on something in the future... If u really consider the cause... It always everyone's fault :)

ps: now obviously it will be my fault if i didnt get all my assignments done during the weekends... die~ LOL

*247 - Where You Heading?

Life's a two way ticket... and u'll cant be standing still at one place too... so its either forward or reverse...

What does it means?

When everyone is moving forward while u're not... then u'll be lagging behind... No matter if you're a rabbit that runs so much faster than a tortoise, a quick nap is catastrophic enough... U'll need tons of energy to catch up the tortoise... or even worst, cant catch up at all...

that's why its a two way ticket... "不进则退"... either u go forward to started to go backward without u noticing...

Which way u'll choose then?

*246 - How Medical Sciences Works

When u read a medical or health article... do u notice something special bout it? its like a new way of writing an article totally different and unique to other kinds of work...

A very good example which u may be familiar of...
"High blood cholesterol level may increase risk of stroke"

Noticed something? Anything?

I'd been observing these few years ago and i'll say that science, health sciences especially is NOT DEFINITIVE...

So wat do u mean by MAY INCREASE RISK of stroke? does it cause stroke? does everyone with high cholesterol gets stroke? do it mean it maybe increase ur risk or it may not be?

We are studying and researching health sciences using statistic... considering all the variations, exceptions and individuality... everything is in percentage... how u can really understand health sciences?

In my opinion... one needs to know the true pathology, or physiology of the disease... u'll need to know how stroke develop... wat's the process that cause blood vessels blockage in the brain... then u evaluate urself wat factors can affect the pathways of the process...

Whey im writing this? coz most of the time wat public gets from a medical journal or article may not be the most correct info... they may understand the wrong concept... from the above example... it doesnt mean that reducing ur cholesterol intake will reduce ur blood cholesterol and helped on ur stroke...

How much do u agree with me?

*245 - To Be Honest

its been 3 months i didnt blog properly... if u noticed... so where i'd been?

not that i lost passion to blogging... i had so many things to share with all my readers... but something caught my thought 3 months ago...

I'd been blogging bout happenings of my life... posting photos bla bla bla... but i realised that ppl can track u from there... by reading, analysing all the blog post... one can simply guess and assume things bout you...

same thing happens on facebook too... ppl can stalk you... comment ur character behind you.... based on the info they gathered from blogs and social networking sites... which is not true most of the time...

its still ok when this is done by frens... but wat about by authorities? your employer? or your superior?

to be honest, this is why i stopped update my blog and seldom post any status... i lived an exciting life... should i share everything?
