*248 - Hectic Week @@

Whoa... i'd not been resting enough this week... incessant events, activities, tests and assignments queuing up in a long long list...

Gotta freaked out soon... LOL

Came across this words in my personnel supervision lecture notes... "external locus of control"...

Im one of the committee for the Malaysian Symposium on Biomedical Science 2010... (in fact, now im slacking in the main lecture hall :P) As u all should already knew... Organizing an event especially such a big one like this... is never been easy... its very TOUGH actually...

Many things went wrong... and i noticed many ppl are practicing external locus of control... what it means is one tend to blame others or natural uncontrolled causes that caused the problems...

Most ppl only know how to blames others... and we all tend to blame others 1st when anything goes wrong without really reconsidering... do u noticed that trend? So when will only a person will make him/herself as the primary cause of the events 1st?

I guess this is something that we all need to learn to be successful in an organisation and meet organisation goals as a whole...

Try to be aware of these when u wanna blame someone on something in the future... If u really consider the cause... It always everyone's fault :)

ps: now obviously it will be my fault if i didnt get all my assignments done during the weekends... die~ LOL

Realizing the importance of Biomedical Sciences in 21st century, Biomedical Club and Department of Biomedical Sciences , Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia has come out with the FIRST Malaysian Symposium on Biomedical Sciences (MySympBios).

Note: MySympBios is the only truly national, annual symposium on Biomedical Sciences, organized by undergraduates from various public and private tertiary education institutions in Malaysia.

We have other universities in Malaysia playing their roles as co-organizers as well:
1* Biomedical Science Club, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia
2* Science Student Society, Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia
3* Biomedical Science Society, Universiti Malaya
4* Biomedical Science Students from Universiti Sains Malaysia and International Medical University (IMU)

There are a couple of universities and colleges are participating in our Symposium:

2* Taylor's University College
3* Management and Science Unviersity
4* Mahsa University College
5* RIMA College Kuala Lumpur

Make sure you spare out your time on 13th and 14th of March as you gonna witness the launching of "Persatuan Biomedic Se-Malaysia", various talks by experienced speakers and thesis presentations by our final year students!!!

Do you have research or project to present in your hand? If yes, you just have to pay RM 50 and send in the soft copy of your research to our email- mysympbios@gmail.com. I bet you gonna enjoy yourself throughout these two days in Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UPM (accommodation and food are provided!!!) Note: ONLY 60 projects are shortlisted for presentation.


Wanna join our Symposium without any pressure of presentation and stuffs? YES, you can just pay RM 30. (Food and accommodation will be provided)
 

For mummies and daddies, if you would like to bring your children along, and you would not like to stay overnight, you could just pay RM 10 to enjoy our launching of "Persatuan Biomed Se Malaysia" and also talks on the first day of our event.
 

All participants will be given a certificate of appreciation.

*226 - Nine Emperor Gods Festival

This is something that u wont see much in the big city of KL... There's always a huge assemblage to celebrate the Nine Emperor Gods Festival in Penang... Carnival-like atmosphere with procession to welcome Them...

Some introduction to Nine Emperor Gods... My mum used to told me that They were pirates of the sea and later became good, thus ppl worship Them... just found out from wikipedia that this isnt true... In Taoism, They are Prince to the Father Emperor Zhou Yu Dou Fu Yuan Jun (斗父周御國王天尊) and Mother Dou Mu Yuan Jun (斗母元君)... Actually i know nothing bout Taoism so dont ask me =.=


I was in Penang on time to witness the ceremony after all these long years in Klang... From my buddism point of view, the Nine Emporor Gods must hav very very good karma... Their 9 days festival give millions of people the opportunity to go vegetarian... Imagine how many animals are spared during this festival...

Surprisingly, many housewives took this opportunity to start their small vegetarian food stall... and they are just so delicious... You just cant find such crowd and vegetarian food on ordinary days...



They are believed to arrive through the waterways, especially the sea... thus, during the last day, there will be also a procession to escort Them back into Their sea... With nicely decorated ships... Paper ships...

Of course we have the traditional chinese opera... My mum's favourite since she was a child... She was so excited to saw there's opera going on that night... LOL... Just like a little girl saw her favourite lollipop...


Notice something? Now only i know the so called TRADITIONAL opera too now has a high tech subtitles... You wont get lost not knowing wat they're singing anymore... The show is in Teochew dialect which i also dont undertand.. hehe

I still got a lot to share actually... but my stupid camera suddenly went out of batt... Arrgghhh~ Anyway, Oct is a good month to visit Penang... Where all the cultures and heritage comes alive...

*219 - San Francisco Pizza, Bangi... N·T·¥ ® JZ's Birthday!

15101987... N·T·¥ ® JZ's Birthday! JZ = Jun Zheng... (wth is this sentence O.o)

For our N·T·¥ ® celebration, we went to San Francisco Pizza in Bandar Baru Bangi since JZ doesnt wanna go far...

Here we are... with the birthday boy in the middle...

That day was a special birthday celebration... As wat Samantha said: "feels so weird for a celebration without a birthday cake"... well... we N·T·¥ havent been into birthday cakes for some time edi...

Drinks... i ordered a Banana XXX... forgot wat it called... its a banana blend with XXX... which it comes in PINK O.o||| WTF

Taste wise still quite satisfying... Everyone of us got a piece of the garlic bread... Taste yummy... How bad can a garlic bread got screwed rite?

On the other hand, i got my pasta... Salmon Linguine... but quite disappointing... Its not as good as i expected... Denny & Partners in Klang did better than here...

We all shared a San Francisco Special Pizza... a very weird look, weird taste and weird smell pizza... =.=

And of course we have our N·T·¥ camwhore session... Take 1... Take 2... (lucky im behind so i got a smaller head xD)

Finally, N·T·¥ is leaving the building~

No matter how Samantha struggling to make herself taller, im still taller than her... Muahahahahhahahaha~

Summary: Not a good restaurant... And for tat price, why not choose a better place?

*203 - Grandest 1Malaysia Raya Open House!

My family was invited by my mum's student to their Raya open house... Its inside a kampung near my house...

We followed the direction given... until we saw one big house in the middle of no where O.o We'd reach the place i guess...

How i wish my house got a field that are enough to be a car park for events like this... @@

My mum's student is totally a 1malaysia product xD he got an Indian father (and a very young one!), Malay mother, siblings attending chinese schools... Wow...

I saw whole Malaysia there... with the concept of Muhibbah... the crowd invited are multi racial... Malays, Indians, Chinese... It feels so warming...

Had very good food too... There's mutton and beef satay, rendang mutton, indian style vege, to go with nasi briyani and pampadum, while on the other side there are BBQ whole lamb available :)'' Yummy~

And the surprise i had is this... i pi jalan jalan then i saw his garage...

A Merc, an Alphard.... and even the Porsche Cayenne is quite common on the road... but i saw this very very very low height car... From far i still thought i saw a Lamborghini... i was wrong....

Its not!!! Saw the LOGO???? Yes! Its a Ferrari under the cover...... Holy shit... I never expect to hav a Ferrari here inside the kampung O.o (its not the latest Ferrari... but still its a Ferrari right? :/)

ps: Marrying his daughter will be a good option (quite pretty too u know)... LOL :P

Shirley got my favourite ice cream cake for the night! :D The Baskin Robbins Choc Chip Peppermint flavour ice cream cake!
It taste just so so so fulfilling which makes u crave for more...

Making a wish....... I wont tell u... its a secret... Shhh....
Cutting the cake.... At tat time the cake started to melt d... Too bad...

*197 - Cafe Cafe KL, 090909 With 9327

090909 - With 9327

We went Cafe Cafe KL at Jalan Maharajalela to try out our very 1st French cuisine... This restaurant had a very good review from everywhere... Its a perfect place for a candle-lit romantic expensive dinner...
Took a few shots with my DLSR... b4 i got my satisfying shot, the waiter come to me and said no photographing O.o WTF... nvm... still got Michelle's IXUS for me to curi curi shot photo xD
The interior is very nice... Very old kind of Paris style... And it comes with very romantic background music of Latin during my dinner... It just feels very nice...

For starter, we had escargot with foie gras, or better known as snail with goose liver :D... This is my 1st time i eat a snail... (after study my parasitology at night, i only know i can be infected with tons of worm through it O.o)
It taste like the sea shells but with softer flesh... And the foie gras just simply blown my mind... It really taste good... And better when u eat it together with ur escargot... just duno how to describe it... you should try urself...

For main course, i had a baked cod fillet with black olive dressing... and Shirley had a lamb shank with duno wat sauce (its black in colour)... Both are delicious...
And i just love the French way of food presentation... Every small piece is finely prepared... I'd learnt something that night... Everything in your plate serves a purpose... So the best is to put spices, every sauce together in ur mouth to get the full mouthwatering experience ^^
and i think i need to cut my hair... Looks so damn NOOB =.=
This 3 man... Who can go in there, sit on the table served with 3 skyjuice, presented with some paperwork from the cashier, and leave without paying... They must be Cafe Cafe's boss... LOL

090909 - Long story leh... I think i'll just separate my birthday post to 3 parts xD

My 1st and earliest celebration was with my fellow NTY... Michelle insisted that we must have something special for dinner... so we went for Korean food... The Kyung Joo Korean Restaurant at Midvalley...
I'll save the food review for the next time :P We had a great time tasting the food but not filling our stomach... The food is just simply not enough for 5 ppl... and its expensive =.= (Actually i told Michelle d... since she wanna go... y not? XD)
Michelle sure going to blog bout it... See she busy taking the food photograph also...

The best thing NTY gave me is............... Tada~ Handmade... erm... booklet!? O.o

*191 - Sound Of The Human World

OMG... cant believe i took a week to post this... :P

Last Saturday (30/8), I attended a Charity Event for 8/8 Taiwan Typhoon Relief Fund Raising cum Sound Of The Human World Campus Competition... It was at the Wisma MCA organised by Buddha's Light International Association (BLIA) Malaysia Branch and Sin Chew Jit Poh... Oya... We're on Astro AEC too...
How i got to attend? My family, mum especially, is actively involved in BLIA... 1st, My mum is the treasurer for the Klang branch Fo Guang Yuan... 2nd, my bro Danny is performing... 3rd, Danny's gf is competing for the final...
A few artist locally and even from Taiwan contributed to this event... The best is this dance by XXX (forget edi la :P) with some handicap dancers... Featuring the song One World by Celtic Women... Its so tear-jerking...
We have 培杰 here...
黄一飞... With his best hokkien songs...
and 林宇中...
There's also others like 杨伟汉、李桀汉、詹雪琳 etc... Totally concert-like... After this, here starts the Sound Of Human World Campus Competition... With my younger bro Danny performing in the opening dance...
We had all kinds of participants with tough competition...
This is danny's gf, Ee Ching (if i spell it right)... Cowgirl style huh...
Friends of the participants even brought a big big banner to support them... O.o
Next in line are the Dandelion 蒲公英 choir group performance...
The organiser kept the best for the last... With 赵咏华, better known as 阿利嫂 from 惡作劇之吻, singing her best song 最浪漫的事... Totally BEST of the best...
She reported to us the current condition in Taiwan about the relief actions until she nearly shred her tears... We here from Malaysia gave our most warming concern and sent RM880k to Taiwan!
