*114 - Religion, Finance, Life

Today, me n my frens were talking on religions AGAIN... U know... The usual stuff... I actually came across many religion-finance related articles in this 2 weeks... Did u ever thought of the effect and influence of your religion on ur finance and life?

Lets think out of the box shall we? What if... ur religion doesnt require u to spend ur time praying... Like a religion tat only teaches u the philosophy of life, but not praying... Again, financially... its never productive to spend ur day praying 3 times or 5 times... Imagine one time praying or chanting u spend half an hour... 5 times a day will cost u 2.5 hours... U only got 24 hours and 8 hours working... It doesnt sound productive to me...

Tithing... Many religion practice paying tithe of a fixed amount of ur income... So frankly... Does it burdens u? Mayb its not for a 30k per month pay but wat if i only have 1000 monthly salary... i still need to pay 100 for my religion... U are somehow forced to give to make urself look good isnt it... Is ur religion actually making u poor? Y not we contribute our energy, to be a volunteer... im sure it will be much meaningful... Still... please donate more if u can afford...

Religion always had many restrictions... Many with good reasons but there's still some goes with unlogical and unacceptable thinking... Now... The question is... Did religion limit you to go for ur goal? To do wat u wan to do? Financially of course. I'd read tat some christian teaching request followers to avoid building wealth, to live like jesus of course. And Koran's forbid muslim to take on any fixed interest earnings.

Religions also struggling to survive in this world of stern reality. Everything we talk is money, from building a temple to burning a joss stick. In my opinion, its always do ur best to get wealthy so u'll be able to contribute more to ur religion or society. What if there's no these types of restrictions... Will their life turns better?

From wat i read everywhere... it seems like religion is not good for ur financial... But my religion did changed me a lot... to be a more kind n compasionate person compare to the original me... Get a religion tat will provide u the principle of life but not burden u financially... From wat i think, still spend within your means, even in religion... Religion givs u faith but not life survival...

Agree with "Religion gives you faith but not life survival". Regarding three to five times of praying in a day, I think it's just a belief and it somehow becomes a routine in their lives. They will feel uncomfortable and uneasy if they don't pray for so many times in a day. It's just like asking you not to take bath for one whole day.

Religion has different value and effect on different people. It just the matter of devotedness. If v r keen on our religion, then all those actions done by devotee shall not be their burden yet its a habit and must-do for d person ady.

I c, then u r right. Religion is part of our life, not yet a whole. Money shouldn't testified as the level of faith in any religion. My opinion is if can't afford, religion goes on but paying depends on situation only.
