"How Open-minded Are You?"... a question that earns a lot of YESes from most ppl... but is it really so?
Or should i rephrase the question a little...
"How readily are you to accept a new concept or idea?"
"How readily are you to accept changes in life?"
"How good are you listening to peoples idea?"
Starting to get some NO now?
We often judge things... especially new things... with prejudice and stereotype without really learn the details of it... These bias actually prevent us from opening ourselves to new opportunities and ideas...
Most of the ideas suggested during meetings arent really that good... in fact they sucks... but does that means that we should label ideas during meetings as lousy and we shouldnt spend time generating them? Most of the idea arent good... but there's always at least one that are significant...
I guess its time for us to start learning on how to open ourselves to new concepts... Ask more... Listen more... Try to find out the truth behind everything... Then only u're in position to evaluate the new idea :)
We know wat we know... We may know wat we dont know... But most of the time we dunno wat we dunno!

*248 - Hectic Week @@
Whoa... i'd not been resting enough this week... incessant events, activities, tests and assignments queuing up in a long long list...
Gotta freaked out soon... LOL
Came across this words in my personnel supervision lecture notes... "external locus of control"...
Im one of the committee for the Malaysian Symposium on Biomedical Science 2010... (in fact, now im slacking in the main lecture hall :P) As u all should already knew... Organizing an event especially such a big one like this... is never been easy... its very TOUGH actually...
Many things went wrong... and i noticed many ppl are practicing external locus of control... what it means is one tend to blame others or natural uncontrolled causes that caused the problems...
Most ppl only know how to blames others... and we all tend to blame others 1st when anything goes wrong without really reconsidering... do u noticed that trend? So when will only a person will make him/herself as the primary cause of the events 1st?
I guess this is something that we all need to learn to be successful in an organisation and meet organisation goals as a whole...
Try to be aware of these when u wanna blame someone on something in the future... If u really consider the cause... It always everyone's fault :)
ps: now obviously it will be my fault if i didnt get all my assignments done during the weekends... die~ LOL

*247 - Where You Heading?
Life's a two way ticket... and u'll cant be standing still at one place too... so its either forward or reverse...
What does it means?
When everyone is moving forward while u're not... then u'll be lagging behind... No matter if you're a rabbit that runs so much faster than a tortoise, a quick nap is catastrophic enough... U'll need tons of energy to catch up the tortoise... or even worst, cant catch up at all...
that's why its a two way ticket... "不进则退"... either u go forward to started to go backward without u noticing...
Which way u'll choose then?

*239 - Post-Job: I'm Grateful
Talking bout my last job... (finally im writing bout it :P)
My night shift ended after 6am... 7something if there's OT... Frankly... Its been a very long time i'd missed the Sunrise and totally forgotten the beauty of it... The view of nature is always so fascinating... This job allowed me to cherish the Sunrise once again... I felt so energetic every early morning (though mayb that's my punch-out time xD), listened to Hitz.fm morning crew, watching the city lights go off one by one... It gave u inspiration and motivation with "Its a new day!" kind of feel... Why dont u try rising early and experience it urself... with a good breakfast meal, these sure will make ur day!
This is the one video that u'll like to watch it every morning... Its in my com, my phone, my ipod... Inspiring video that helps u jump start ur day :)

*235 - Why This Job?
Sorry people... Was missing for weeks from the blogosphere :/ Im totally lack of writing inspiration due to sleep deprivation... My data entry job huh...
Yeah... Night shift did make a person's biological clock go haywire... Do consider twice (million times is recommended) if u wish to work night shift =.= Some experience to share... Before u can adapt to the change, u're a total mess... U cant eat, u cant sleep and u cant even find a time to poop :/ I was having problem in identifying which day im in... What's my lunch time and what's my dinner time or perhaps others called it supper and breakfast? O.o
Many ppl had been asking me "Why this job?"... and the fact is i had to agree with u its not a worth-to-do job at all... Odd timing, not a really high pay job, distant workplace, stupid parking charges and blood-sucking tolls, the one and only one mamak available that serve the worst food i ever had... Hmmm... Complains still can go on and on...
Not that i really in need of money to live on, i chose this job just because its offer suits my calendar... Today will be my last day and i'll be enjoying my sem break... To think logic financially, despite those complains i got above, why not i earn some (really SOME after all deductions) rather than i sit at home and do nothing? Unless i got a better job offer, or else i'll stick to this job of course... Not that u can always choose a good job anyway...
Many ppl especially graduates tend to choose their job so fastidiously... End up "this not a good time", "this not having good pay", "this just sucks" or whatever... this doesnt help in anyway financially... It will only waste ur time unemployed (mayb be u can hav some mushrooms after u grow it at home =.=) Why not do some not-so-good job until u find a better offer? Something is better than nothing... Its either u earn money or keep spending money, u still at least need to eat right?
Thus that's how i ended up in this job and trying to detach myself from my comfort zone... Trying to stop my expenditure and at least accumulate some cash too... On the other hand, i noticed how lucky am i compare to my other colleagues... plus Every new place u will learn something new... something its there but u may never realise before... I'll share wat i learned in my next post xD

*162 - My Perfectionism
I took the test tat i posted in my last post about perfectionism... and i scored 47 :D Having a balance between perfection and my ability of achieving it... However, during the test i do realize something bad...
"People expect more from their loved ones". In fact, this statement is quite true. Its just like your parents will expect a lot more from u as u are their children. The problem i realize is tat i do have perfectionism in my relationship, i expect a lot from my other half.
There's a few questions in the test asking about how satisfied on ur gf/wife and the relationship etc... Then i realize that i recently feel tat she just not doing enough for me... It mayb due to the crisis we had earlier and our trust had been broken, but having too high expectation doesnt seems right too...
I remember my fren said something to me before... Girls feels pressure when the guys keep talking about marriage and future while girls still feel uncertain on the relationship... That's where i went to ask her did she felt so when i got our future plans... Unfortunately the answer is YES...
I'll try my best now to lower my expectation on her... which i think also pressured my dearie a lot... Understanding the fact tat not everyone will do wat u did, managing a relationship without any pressure on both parties mayb just the best way :)

*161 - Perfectionism
There's always a story of perfectionism in everywhere we go... Even in our family... Before complaining how high other's expectation on you, did u ever examine yourself how high u put ur expectation on others?
Some people are 100% perfectionist. They demand everything to be in perfect condition... Its ok when its personal, but its NOT OK when u demand and exert pressure on others... Everyone has their own definition for a good piece of work... Some ppl think tat a folio is good enough when it got 5 pages while some demand it to be at least 50 pages... But dont u think its ridiculous to expect 50 pages on small topic folio?
Real life example tat always happens in my university is on the group assignments or lab reports... Due to the fact tat some ppl care about their result so much (others just plain perfectionist for no reason O.o) that they demand a perfect piece of work that most of the time isnt necessary... Many had been complaining on the high expectation of group members that are impossible to meet... Some people may not just be as good as u are...
So how do u handle such situation when ur coursemate did a bad job? Sometimes u just have to guide them... Perhaps give an outline to them, for example, discuss this this this topics in the assignment... It is never feel nice to modify other ppls work without their consent and just because u feel it sucks... Frankly, communication and discussion prior doing the work is essential to ensure the work to be done properly and as near ur expectations...
Be lenient a bit... Try to accept others as they are... And keep ur perfectionism personal... Then im sure everybody can work together happily and learn from mistakes together...

*157 - How And Why i Write All These?
Referring to all those personal development post.
Tat day my fren from Singapore asked me how i write those stuff... its like something tat i wont write... Or did i just copy and paste...
To answer this:
Every topic i wrote on is definitely not a new topic to this world... Due to i love reading personal development blogs and books, tat's wat i learnt and exposed to... But my blog post is something i experienced, something i went through by practising wat i learnt... There's how i write my personal development post...
And why i write about it? Do u know tat teaching somebody wat u learnt will actually make u better in tat particular thing? And by writing to all my beloved readers... i gain more than just wat i read... i can analyse how much i practised it... and at the same time promoting u guyz to do so... Since its something beneficial...
Im not perfect... Im also just learning and trying my best to practice wat i think is necessary to excel... You may know me more by learning my thinking and mindset through my post too... i dont really agree to everything i read :)

*155 - Should Just Be Yourself Or... ?
Everyone had been saying "Be Yourself"... Its true in a way but did u ever thought that changing yourself might be a better option?
You wanna be yourself... act like the true you... but MOST people cant accept it... OR... You thought you arent comfortable with something, but MOST of the successful ppl are practising it... Then u got a choice to make... To change your thinking and character or say "love me hate me"...
It depends on your self-analysis then... Do u think that u had a hard time in socialising? Do you feel that actually most of the ppl isnt very happy with ur character? Or you feel that why most ppl are doing good in tat thing but i suck? Its never any excuses and the problem is always YOU!
I know u cant satisfy everyone... and you can always say tat "love me hate me, tats my true self"... but wat if MOST of the ppl cant tolerate wat u are today? Isnt its time for u to evaluate urself and go into personal development?
The prob is many ppl resist change... and tat's why they still stuck at the old-intolerable-self... By saying "this is me" may cause more disadvantage... Sometimes u feel that its ntg wrong to behave so, but to build rapport, you still need to be accepted by others...
Dont see things so superficially... Mayb its ur problem not theirs... Be open mind and do more for personal development...

*154 - Nutrilite Rally: Cholesterol, The Good, The Bad and The Truth
On Friday night, Nutrilite organised a rally for its new cholesterol lowering product, CH balance that contains green tea extract... Green tea is famous for its cholesterol lowering properties because of its phytochemical actions...
I always like their rally, talk or conference because i learnt a lot from there... They are very professional and scientific in a way... Since its been at least 2 years i didnt join their activity, i decided to go and update myself... Its in One World Hotel, Damansara...
Its a talk bout cholesterol by Dr. Duke Johnson, MD... A very famous preventive medicine specialist... He emphasis on relation of chronic inflammation and cholesterol... And one statistic that u may wan to know... 53% of Malaysia population has cholesterolemia (high cholesterol)... Its more than half ok...
Mayb due to my knowledge on cheolesterol and my level of studies... I guess i didnt benefit much on the theories... but did gain a lot on cholesterol statistics, effect of global industrialism and personal development too...
Met those tat i lost contact for a while, my ex-biology tuition student, new frens and Huey Yen (since she's in the company involved in organising the event)... Best thing about direst sales ppl are they are very positive and excited on wat they do...

*149 - Facebook, Twitter... Any Good?
Lets 1st hear wat Seth Godin said...
I agree on wat he said... But what if ur whole community of fren is playing facebook? Facebook allows everyone to update each other's status almost instantly... and this helps us to keep in touch with our frens...
It may not be a good way to know new frens from facebook because its a virtual relationship and its mostly fake... But hey... dont u know tat a couple tat met on facebook is getting married? See here if u dont...
I noticed tat nearly every big companies has a facebook account... either its a fan page or company group profile... U can get a starbucks page or even Malaysia Airlines fan page from facebook... I personally thinks tat facebook is a good network if u wan to go directly to ur customers... I'd experience the effectiveness of having a conference meeting throught facebook invitation to receive feedbacks from the customers... MAS did well though...
I just spend an hour on facebook talking nonsense because of boredom... and it doesnt come much benefits to me... the most is i still be able to sustain some network with my old frens... Facebook games comes another story... I'll say its a plain waste of time... anyway... i just think tat all games is a waste of time... (its entertaining anyway... so depends on time management then)
Still a real meeting-in-person fren is better for your social life... And im working on it...

*143 - People Pleasing, Good Or Bad?
Did u ever thought before this question? Afraid of hurting ppl or so called pleasing others is an act of goodness or bring more harm to urself?
Frankly, i mostly put others before me... Nothing to brag about but i did it most of the time... And i was more a people pleaser before i learnt the world in the hard way...
No... We shouldn't hope for returns to help a person... Thus this isnt a question about how the person repay u... Its about wat favour others ask u for... If u'd been a YES man all this while... you should already notice something... People treat u like a doormate... Stepping above you... somewhat abused ur kindness by asking ridiculous request without thinking on your behalf...
There's a saying, "If you please everybody, you're pleasing nobody"... since there is always no perfect win-win solution... u cant satisfy everyone... there's always somebody to lose... its either one of them or YOU...
Sometimes we really got no choice but to embrace the art of saying no... Reminding others to think for other people isnt a bad thing at all...
Draw your line. Pleases the right people and kick those dracula's ass!
People Pleaser Check Out Point:
Signs of a People Pleaser
* says yes, even when their mind says no.
* devastated when they think someone doesn’t like them.
* would rather feel personal pain than displease another.
* cringes at the first sign of friction.
* willing to fail in the name of pleasing another.
* lost their own sense of unique personality and belief.
* not willing to speak up for themselves.
* loses sleep over the slightest altercation with another.
* feels out of control when they think another human being may disagree with what they’re doing.
* starts to see their desire to please others as a separate part of themselves. Separate from the rest of who they are as an individual.

*141 - LOVE Life? LIVE your life!
Inspired post by LoveLife and Love Your Life!!!
Most of the ppl including me will say "I Love Life"... But did u truly LIVE your life?
Many people is wasting their life time while others demand more time to live... How irony... From Buddhism, i'd learnt to accept fragility and uncertainty of life... As i always said, i may die in a car crash later... Its never a negative thinking that should be "pantang" off... It's a motivating reminder for me to reflect upon my life, "did i live my life and has no regrets?"
Why not ask urself... If u really die now, what u things u havent done? What matter are u still regretting? Think about it... Dont go "choi choi choi"! You'll tend to regret after avoiding this question for your life...
Miss your parents and wish to tell them how u love them?
Do It Now!
Dont dare to let someone know u love em?
Go!
Didnt give ur best doing something u wanna accomplish?
Make a change!
Most importantly... Never help someone in need before?
Please... Now!
You LOVE Life? Then LIVE your life... and help others in need to LIVE their life too...
*140 - Everything Happens For A Reason
Many things happened uncontrollably... And i believe these things happened for a reason...
We may not like wat happened to us, wat was offered to us... Many of us were forced to choose the undesirable choices in life... Come and think about it, if u got wat u wan, wat u'd missed all this while?
I remembered wat Dato' Sri Idris Jala, CEO of MAS shared during his talk... If you cant get wat u wan (after u did ur best fighting for it of course), dont worry, dont develope rejection to it... Accept and try to move with it... You wont know wat goodness it will bring for u... The more u reject it... the more miserable ur life will be and u wont excel in your alternative path too...
He told us that he always wanted to study law... In fact, he got his scholarship to study law in New Zealand... But something bad (i forget wat is it) caused him to missed the letter of offer... When he realise it, its already way passed the deadline to reply... Sadly, everyone will say, he had to do his degree in USM, not in law of course...
But due to this, he found his wife in USM... and there he got his family and his lovely children... Get to worked in Shell International and now as a CEO of MAS... He proposed a very good question... What if he went for his scholarship for law in NZ? His answer for this question is probably at his age now, he is a very convincing lawyer without his beautiful family in his law office...
Divine intervention... Anti it u'll be so miserable in life and may ended achieve nothing or go along with it u'll realise something beautiful at the end... Your choice...

*135 - The YES! Man
I missed the movie "YES man" from Jim Carrey in the cinema last year and i got my chance to watch it last night... Its not just an empty comedy after all.... If u are into personal development, this movie got it all...
Carl (Jim Carrey) was withdrawn, depressed and inherently negative bout life... He uses all kinds of excuses to rejects every invitation, every call and everything... Until one day he joins a seminar whose the brain-washing speaker had a deal with him that he gotta say YES! to every opportunity, every request and virtually everything...
You should watch the movie... And u'll see wonders lies behind every opportunity given... You never know wat u'd missed for rejecting an offer... There's where after all the YESes, He try every experience, travel spontaneously (he goes where the next flight goes), helped in charity... thus built his network, his relationship, his rapport, and his happy life...
The purpose to recommend u this movie is to remind you 2 fundamental things in personal development:
1. Stop using excuses!
2. Be comfortable with the uncomfortable.
Im sure it occurs to you too... U rejected some jobs or invitation with the excuse of "Im busy" but in truth u're just lying on the sofa to watch tv or worst, doing nothing... Excuses allow you to get away with something you are too scared to do because you feel uncomfortable.... Just say YES!, u never know wat u'd missed...
To get the best out of yourself, u'll have to be confident in everything u do... Everyone tends to avoid the uncomfortable.. like "i dont wanna go, it feels weird"... From here u are generating excuses for the uncomfortable... Change urself... Be comfortable... I got a few breakthrough last sem break and i did gained a lot from there...
Lets be a YES man!

*129 - Why Own Something You Dont Need?
Introducing everyone the most CONTROVERSIAL item i ever owned in my life...
Nokia 2630 !!!
Since day 1 i bought this phone, i got plenty of comments on this matter... Some asked why buy such noob phone? Some said my status doesnt fit into this phone. Some even checked my body temperature in case im having fever when deciding upon this phone =.= Sadly, my parents also doubt that i can settle with this phone...
Since last sem... I realised tat i dont need a flashy handphone... I'd got an old O2 PDA to be my organiser... so I only need a phone tat can call, sms, and save all my contacts, that's all... Other accessories seems meaningless to me as i dont really use them... It seems unwise to pay for what you wont need even u can afford the extra... But i opt for a mp3 ringtoned phone though, just not to scare everyone when my phone rings :D
Used to own an Ipod Nano 3rd Gen... I sold it to my fren hastily last sem... This event actually made me aware of this big philosophy of life... Life can be simple, and many things u just dont really need...
Something to ask urself... Do u really need those bling bling ones? What is the benefit of your flashy cell phone? Do those gadgets bring more pros than cons? Food for thought, personal image and status arent measured by the gadgets u own...

*124 - Another Good Culture For Adoption
Its from the Malays...
I met my neighbour staying opposite of my NTY House just now... He just got back from his badminton game... Something i knew but forgotten caught my attention...
He opens his house door... Then shouted "Assalamualaikum~"
Its a arabic word with the meaning of "peace"... Its how they salam or greet their family n frens...
This is something tat most of us didnt do... To greet our family when we are home... Even in Hong Kong drama, they always did greet their wife at least... "Lou poh, ngo fan lei la~"
Try greeting ur family members when u reach home next time... This will turn out to be a warm and good practice!

*112 - Quarter-Life Crisis?
What is it? Is a term tat derive from Mid-Life crisis that defines a stage where many men are plagued by feelings that their life has no meaning or that their physical and mental powers are spent.
So why Quarter-life? Im just in my 20s. Not even my mid-life yet =.=
The crisis somewhat pertaining to a financial crisis and also ur lifetime career. Am i late for the boat? Is it a good choice tat i picked STPM and local U to be my path last time? My frens are starting to earn their 1st million but seems like im still stuck with this biomedic course. What can i do after i graduate?
I understand that many biomedic students feel uncertain on their future. And yes im one of them. I dont want my next 30 years driving early to the lab, do tat few routine test. I want more out of life... So what am i missing here?
Anyway, im now suppose to be in the transitional stage to step in the grown-up world. And as wat dmbosstone.com describe, it's a so happy youth life :D
Quote: "You may have a 9-5 job but you still play hard on the weekends. You may start having more happy-hours and dinner nights with your friends, but you are still tailgating at concerts and tearing up bar crawls downtown. You may have fond memories of living in a dorm but you are more than happy to be paying rent in house where there’s no RA to stop you from lighting candles and drinking beer.

You may no longer have awkward stories about your roommate walking in on you having sex- but now (if you are lucky) you no longer have awkward stories about your roommate walking in on you having sex.
And hopefully sex isn’t that awkward anymore." XD
Arrggh! I should start something now and live my life!
